The objective of Seminar is to propagate the scholarly and critical knowledge und understanding of Germanic Studies, meaning the study primarily of literature and culture of the German-speaking countries, and secondarily of literature and culture in other Germanic languages excluding English.

Semiotica, the Journal of the International Association for Semiotic Studies, was founded in 1969 and appears in five volumes of four issues per year, in two languages (English and French), and occasionally in German.Semiotica features articles reporting results of research in all branches of semiotic studies, in-depth reviews of selected current literature in the field, and occasional guest editorials and reports. From time to time, Special Issues, devoted to topics of particular interest, are assembled by Guest Editors.The publishers of Semiotica offer an annual prize, the Mouton d'Or, to the author of the best article each year. The article is selected by an independent international jury.Semiotica is a peer-reviewed journal of international scope.

Seventeenth-Century French Studies (SCFS), which first appeared in 1979, is the annual journal of the Society for Seventeenth-Century French Studies. Peer reviewed by an internationally-based editorial board and invited specialists, the journal publishes high-quality original articles in English and French on a broad range of literary, cultural, historical and theoretical topics relating to early modern France. Studies taking up questions of gender, iconography, body criticism, economics, history of costume and the poetics of memory have recently appeared in broadly themed volumes devoted to: the knowledge economy in the long seventeenth century, conversation, gossip and the voice, image and the imagination, and pedagogy and practice.SCFS welcomes the work of both established figures and young researchers, and has historically provided a unique forum for the strong British tradition of scholarship focussing on the great seventeenth-century French classics, encouraged and supported by the Society’s first president, Roy C Knight. Interdisciplinary studies are particularly welcomed. Fully international in scope, the journal has encouraged contributions from throughout the UK, the US, France, Portugal, Sweden, Turkey, and the Republic of Ireland, among others.

Founded in 1950 by the Shakespeare Association of America, Shakespeare Quarterly is a refereed journal committed to publishing articles in the vanguard of Shakespeare studies. As of 19 April 2010, submissions are double blinded. The Quarterly, produced by Folger Shakespeare Library in association with George Washington University, features notes that bring to light new information on Shakespeare and his age, issue and exchange sections for the latest ideas and controversies, theater reviews of significant Shakespeare productions, and book reviews to keep its readers current with Shakespeare criticism and scholarship.

The South African Journal of African Languages is a peer-reviewed research journal devoted to the advancement of African (Bantu) and Khoi-San languages and literatures. Papers, book reviews and polemic contributions of a scientific nature in any of the core areas of linguistics, both theoretical (e.g. syntax, phonology, semantics) and applied (e.g. sociolinguistic topics, language teaching, language policy), and literature, based on original research in the context of the African languages, are welcome. The journal is the official mouthpiece of the African Language Association of Southern Africa (ALASA), established in 1979.
