The official Journal of the European Peptide Society EPS The Journal of Peptide Science is a cooperative venture of John Wiley & Sons, Ltd and the European Peptide Society, undertaken for the advancement of international peptide science by the publication of original research results and reviews. The Journal of Peptide Science publishes three types of articles: Research Articles, Rapid Communications and Reviews. The scope of the Journal embraces the whole range of peptide chemistry and biology: the isolation, characterisation, synthesis properties (chemical, physical, conformational, pharmacological, endocrine and immunological) and applications of natural peptides; studies of their analogues, including peptidomimetics; peptide antibiotics and other peptide-derived complex natural products; peptide and peptide-related drug design and development; peptide materials and nanomaterials science; combinatorial peptide research; the chemical synthesis of proteins; and methodological advances in all these areas. The spectrum of interests is well illustrated by the published proceedings of the regular international Symposia of the European, American, Japanese, Australian, Chinese and Indian Peptide Societies. Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis (JPA) is a peer-reviewed open access journal for original research articles, short communication as well as review articles related to all aspects of Pharmaceutical Analysis. The Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences will publish original research papers, original research notes, invited topical reviews (including Minireviews), and editorial commentary and news. The area of focus shall be concepts in basic pharmaceutical science and such topics as chemical processing of pharmaceuticals, including crystallization, lyophilization, chemical stability of drugs, pharmacokinetics, biopharmaceutics, pharmacodynamics, pro-drug developments, metabolic disposition of bioactive agents, dosage form design, protein-peptide chemistry and biotechnology specifically as these relate to pharmaceutical technology, and targeted drug delivery.

This journal is an international medium directed towards the needs of academic, clinical, government and industrial analysis by publishing original research reports and critical reviews on pharmaceutical and biomedical analysis. It covers the interdisciplinary aspects of analysis in the pharmaceutical, biomedical and clinical sciences, including developments in analytical methodology, instrumentation, computation and interpretation. Submissions on novel applications focussing on drug purity and stability studies, pharmacokinetics, therapeutic monitoring, metabolic profiling; drug-related aspects of analytical biochemistry and forensic toxicology; quality assurance in the pharmaceutical industry are also welcome.Studies from areas of well established and poorly selective methods, such as UV-VIS spectrophotometry (including derivative and multi-wavelength measurements), basic electroanalytical (potentiometric, polarographic and voltammetric) methods, fluorimetry, flow-injection analysis, etc. are accepted for publication in exceptional cases only, if a unique and substantial advantage over presently known systems is demonstrated. The same applies to the assay of simple drug formulations by any kind of methods and the determination of drugs in biological samples based merely on spiked samples. Drug purity/stability studies should contain information on the structure elucidation of the impurities/degradants. Papers dealing with the analytical aspects of traditional folk medicines are acceptable if the results are expected to attract the interest of readers also outside the area of origin. Bioanalytical papers (pharmacokinetic, bioequivalence, protein and DNA binding studies) are accepted if the focus is on innovative analytical methodology.In determining the suitability of submitted articles for publication, particular scrutiny will be placed on the degree of novelty and significance of the research and the extent to which it adds to existing knowledge in pharmaceutical and biomedical analysis. In all submissions to the journal, authors must address the question of how their proposed methodology compares with previously reported methods. A substantial body of work cannot be fractionated into different shorter papers.Audience: Analytical scientists, management in the pharmaceutical industry, clinical chemistry laboratories, academic institutions, government agencies, biochemists, microbiology specialists, pharmaceutical formulation scientists.

The Journal of Phase Equilibria and Diffusion (JPED) focuses on the crystallographic, chemical, diffusion, and other kinetic properties of phases. It features critical phase diagram evaluations on scientifically and industrially important alloy systems, authored by international experts, as well as critically reviewed basic and applied research results, and a survey of current literature. JPED covers the significance of diagrams as well as new research techniques, equipment, data evaluation, nomenclature, presentation, and other aspects of phase diagram preparation and use. It also offers information on such phenomena as kinetic control of equilibrium, coherency effects, impurity effects, and thermodynamic and crystallographic characteristics.

JPPA publishes the results of fundamental studies on all aspects of chemical phenomena induced by interactions between light and molecules/matter of all kinds.All systems capable of being described at the molecular or integrated multimolecular level are appropriate for the journal. This includes all molecular chemical species as well as biomolecular, supramolecular, polymer and other macromolecular systems. In addition, the journal publishes studies of semiconductor and other photoactive organic and inorganic materials.The scope includes condensed and gas phase photochemistry, as well as synchrotron radiation chemistry. A broad range of processes and techniques in photochemistry are covered such as light induced energy, electron and proton transfer; nonlinear photochemical behavior; mechanistic investigation of photochemical reactions and identification of the products of photochemical reactions; quantum yield determinations and measurements of rate constants for primary and secondary photochemical processes; steady-state and time-resolved emission, ultrafast spectroscopic methods, single molecule spectroscopy, time resolved X-ray diffraction, luminescence microscopy, and scattering spectroscopy applied to photochemistry. Papers in emerging and applied areas such as luminescent sensors, solar energy conversion, atmospheric photochemistry, environmental remediation, and related photocatalytic chemistry are also welcome.JPPA publishes Regular Articles, Invited Feature Articles, and Short Notes. Regular Articles allow for a complete overview of research results. Specialist researchers will be occasionally invited by Editors to write Invited Feature Articles. Invited Feature Articles are intended to present an overview of the author's recent work in relation to other published research in the field, and are not intended to be a comprehensive overview of a particular sub-discipline. The Journal of Physical Organic Chemistry is the foremost international journal devoted to the relationship between molecular structure and chemical reactivity in organic systems. Journal of Physical and Chemical Reference Data is published by the American Institute of Physics (AIP) for the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST); content is published online daily, collected into quarterly online and printed issues (4 issues per year). The objective of the Journal is to provide critically evaluated physical and chemical property data, fully documented as to the original sources and the criteria used for evaluation, preferably with uncertainty analysis. Critical reviews of measurement techniques may also be included if they shed light on the accuracy of available data in a technical area. Papers reporting correlations of data or estimation methods are acceptable only if they are based on critical data evaluation and if they produce “reference data”—the best available values for the relevant properties. The journal is not intended as a publication outlet for original experimental measurements such as those normally reported in the primary research literature, nor for review articles of a descriptive or primarily theoretical nature. One source of contributions to the Journal is The National Standard Reference Data System (NSRDS), which was established in 1963 as a means of coordinating on a national scale the production and dissemination of critically evaluated reference data in the physical sciences. Under the Standard Reference Data Act (Public Law 90-396) the National Institute of Standards and Technology of the U.S. Department of Commerce has the primary responsibility in the Federal Government for providing reliable scientific and technical reference data. The Standard Reference Data Program of NIST coordinates a complex of data evaluation centers, located in university, industrial, and other Government laboratories as well as within NIST, which are engaged in the compilation and critical evaluation of numerical data on physical and chemical properties retrieved from the world scientific literature. The participants in this NIST-sponsored program, together with similar groups under private or other Government support which are pursuing the same ends, compose the National Standard Reference Data System. The primary focus of the NSRDS is on well-defined physical and chemical properties of well-characterized materials or systems. An effort is made to assess the accuracy of data reported in the primary research literature and to prepare compilations of critically evaluated data which will serve as reliable and convenient reference sources for the scientific and technical community.

The Journal of Physics and Chemistry of Solids is a well established international medium for publication of research in condensed matter and materials science. Emphasis is placed on experimental and theoretical work which contributes to a basic understanding of and new insight into the properties and behavior of condensed matter. General areas of interest are the electronic, spectroscopic and structural properties of solids, the statistical mechanics and thermodynamics of condensed systems, including perfect and defect lattices, surfaces, interfaces, thin films and multilayers, amorphous materials and nanostructures, and layered and low dimensional structures.Typical examples include the preparation and structural characterization of novel and advanced materials, especially in relation to the measurement and interpretation of their electrical, magnetic, optical, thermal and mechanical properties, phase transitions, electronic structure and defect properties, and the application of appropriate experimental and theoretical techniques in these studies.
