National Identities explores the formation and expression of national identity from antiquity to the present day. It examines the role in forging identity of cultural (language, architecture, music, gender, religion, the media, sport, encounters with 8216;the other' etc.) and political (state forms, wars, boundaries) factors, by examining how these have been shaped and changed over time. The historical significance of 8216;nation'in political and cultural terms is considered in relationship to other important and in some cases countervailing forms of identity such as religion, region, tribe or class. The focus is on identity, rather than on contingent political forms that may express it. The journal is not prescriptive or proscriptive in its approach. Instead, it acts as a forum within which the growing number of scholars working in this field can explore this important subject. Natural Hazards is devoted to original research work on all aspects of natural hazards, including the forecasting of catastrophic events, risk management, and the nature of precursors of natural and technological hazards.
Although hazards can originate in different sources and systems, such as atmospheric, hydrologic, oceanographic, volcanologic, seismic, neotectonic, the environmental impacts are equally catastrophic. This warrants a close interaction between different scientific and operational disciplines, aimed at enhancing the mitigation of hazards.
Coverage includes such categories of hazard as atmospheric, climatological, oceanographic, storm surges, tsunamis, floods, snow, avalanches, landslides, erosion, earthquakes, volcanoes, man-made and technological, as well as risk assessment.

Natural Hazards and Earth System Sciences (NHESS) is an international and interdisciplinary journal for the publication of original research concerning natural hazards. New perspectives for the understanding and tackling of natural hazards will arise by considering the subject form a broad base where the separate geosciences merge. NHESS serves the community of geoscientists concerned with natural hazards and also those interacted in publishing communications regarding interdisciplinary problems arising from difficulties encountered in the tackling of the mitigation of risks associated with natural hazards.

For over 50 years the New Zealand Geographer has been the internationally refereed journal of the New Zealand Geographical Society. Newsletters in Stratigraphy is an international, peer-reviewed journal, publishing articles of international interest dealing with stratigraphical matters for example, descriptions of new stratotypes, redefinitions of existing stratotypes, new approaches to the subdivision of stratigraphic units and the discussion of problems associated with particular boundaries. Papers adding comment and/or critique to to original papers published in this journal or elsewhere are accepted. Newsletters on stratigraphy also publishes summaries of original papers that are not accessible in the literature, this also applies to papers in which the stratigraphic aspect is only a byproduct. Reviews of current commission or conference discussions, recommendations or resolutions are invited, as are papers of other purport, if they are of relevance to stratigraphic problems. Nonlinear Processes in Geophysics (NPG) is an international, interdisciplinary journal for the publication of original research furthering knowledge on nonlinear processes in all branches of Earth, planetary and solar system sciences.
