Quaternary Geochronology

ISSN: 1871-1014eISSN: 1878-0350

Quaternary Geochronology is an international journal devoted to the publication of the highest-quality, peer-reviewed articles on all aspects of dating methods applicable to the Quaternary Period - the last 2.6 million years of Earth history. Reliable ages are fundamental to place changes in climates, landscapes, flora and fauna - including the evolution and ecological impact of humans - in their correct temporal sequence, and to understand the tempo and mode of geological and biological processes. There is growing scientific appreciation of the complexity of the Quaternary Period. This has increased the demand on geochronological techniques to deliver increasingly more accurate and precise ages, which underpin attempts to determine the causes and consequences of events at a variety of temporal and spatial scales. Some Quaternary dating methods are well established, while others are in the early stages of development. Quaternary Geochronology will provide a readily accessible platform to rapidly communicate the latest developments and applications in these emerging fields, as well as improvements made to more traditional methods of age determination. New technological capabilities are providing a greater understanding of the underlying principles of age estimation and are stimulating innovative applications. Quaternary Geochronology will report the latest insights and discoveries to an inter-disciplinary audience concerned with events in the Quaternary Period.Quaternary Geochronology will publish research in the following areas:• Principles of geochronological methods• Advances in methodology, analytical procedures and instrumentation• Methodological standardisations and inter-laboratory comparisons• Calibrations and comparisons of different methods• Novel and groundbreaking applications in all fields of Quaternary researchWe particularly encourage the submission of: • Systematic and comprehensive studies in pure and applied contexts• Integrated and inter-disciplinary applications of geochronological data• Provocative and topical papers of immediate interest to a wide audienceThe following contributions will be accepted:• Original research papers and case studies• Review papers• Special thematic issues• Viewpoint articles• Letters to the Editors (including comments on papers published in Quaternary Geochronology)• Book reviews

Quaternary International is the official journal of the International Union for Quaternary Research. The objectives are to publish a high quality scientific journal under the auspices of the premier Quaternary association that reflects the interdisciplinary nature of INQUA and records recent advances in Quaternary science that appeal to a wide audience. This series will encompass all the full spectrum of the physical and natural sciences that are commonly employed in solving Quaternary problems. The policy is to publish peer refereed collected research papers from symposia, workshops and meetings sponsored by INQUA. In addition, other organizations may request publication of their collected works pertaining to the Quaternary.Potential Guest Editors who are interested in proposing a Thematic volume are kindly requested to contact the Editor-in-Chief, Professor Norm Catto, directly at the e-mail address ncatto@mun.ca.Guest Editors will be appointed for each volume. For more information about INQUA see http://www.inqua.tcd.ie

Quaternary Science Reviews

ISSN: 0277-3791eISSN: 1873-457X

Quaternary Science Reviews caters for all aspects of Quaternary science, and includes, for example, geology, geomorphology, geography, archaeology, soil science, palaeobotany, palaeontology, palaeoclimatology and the full range of applicable dating methods. The dividing line between what constitutes the review paper and one which contains new original data is not easy to establish, so QSR also publishes papers with new data especially if these perform a review function. All the Quaternary sciences are changing rapidly and subject to re-evaluation as the pace of discovery quickens; thus the eclectic and comprehensive role of Quaternary Science Reviews keeps readers abreast of the wider issues relating to new developments in the field. Quaternary Science Reviews includes Special Issues on topical subjects arising from recent scientific meetings, in response to significant chances in Quaternary subject matter, or to acknowledge the achievements of some outstanding Quaternary Scientist.Benefits to authorsWe also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more. Remote Sensing

eISSN: 2072-4292
DOAJ Logo

Remote Sensing (ISSN 2072-4292) publishes regular research papers, reviews, letters and communications covering all aspects of the remote sensing process, from instrument design and signal processing to the retrieval of geophysical parameters and their application in geosciences. Concepts of novel remote sensors as well as comprehensive reviews (including comprehensive reviews on complete sensors products) may also be published in another MDPI journal Sensors (ISSN 1424-8220). Our aim is to encourage scientists to publish experimental, theoretical and computational results in as much detail as possible so that results can be easily reproduced. There is no restriction on the length of the papers. The full experimental details must be provided so that the results can be reproduced. There are, in addition, three unique features of this Journal: Manuscripts regarding research proposals and research ideas are welcome Electronic files and software regarding the full details of the calculation and experimental procedure, if unable to be published in a normal way, can be deposited as supplementary material We also accept manuscripts communicating to a broader audience with regard to research projects financed with public funds
