The Journal of Atmospheric Chemistry is devoted to the study of the chemistry of the Earth's atmosphere, with particular emphasis on the region below about 100 km. The strongly interdisciplinary nature of atmospheric chemistry means that it embraces a great variety of sciences, but the journal concentrates on such topics as: Observational, interpretative and modeling studies of the composition of air and precipitation and the physiochemical processes in the Earth's atmosphere, excluding air pollution problems of local importance only; the role of the atmosphere in biogeochemical cycles; the chemical interaction of the oceans, land surface and biosphere with the atmosphere; laboratory studies of the mechanics in homogeneous and heterogeneous transformation processes in the atmosphere; descriptions of major advances in instrumentation developed for the measurement of atmospheric composition and chemical properties.

The journal covers the physical processes operating in the troposphere, stratosphere, mesosphere, thermosphere, ionosphere, magnetosphere, the Sun, interplanetary medium, and heliosphere. Phenomena occurring in other "spheres", solar influences on climate, and supporting laboratory measurements are also considered. The journal deals especially with the coupling between the different regions.

Climate research concerned with large-scale variability of the atmosphere, oceans, and land surface, including the cryosphere; past, present and projected future changes in the climate system (including those caused by human activities); climate simulation and prediction. Occasionally the Journal of Climate will publish review articles on particularly topical areas. Such reviews must be approved by the Chief Editor prior to submission.
Journal of Geophysical Research (JGR) publishes original scientific research on the physical, chemical, and biological processes that contribute to the understanding of the Earth, Sun, and solar system and all of their environments and components. JGR is currently organized into seven disciplinary sections (Atmospheres, Biogeosciences, Earth Surface, Oceans, Planets, Solid Earth, Space Physics). Journal of Hydroinformatics is a peer-reviewed Open Access journal devoted to the application of information technology in the widest sense to problems of the aquatic environment.
