Research in Engineering Design is an international journal that publishes research papers on design theory and methodology in all fields of engineering, focussing on mechanical, civil, architectural, and manufacturing engineering. The journal is designed for professionals in academia, industry and government interested in research issues relevant to design practice. Papers emphasize underlying principles of engineering design and discipline-oriented research where results are of interest or extendible to other engineering domains. General areas of interest include theories of design, foundations of design environments, representations and languages, models of design processes, and integration of design and manufacturing. Research in Nondestructive Evaluation® is the American Society for Nondestructive Testing and Evaluation’s archival research journal. RNDE® contains the results of original research in all areas of nondestructive evaluation (NDE). The journal covers experimental and theoretical investigations dealing with the scientific and engineering bases of NDE, its measurement and methodology, and a wide range of applications of materials and structures that relate to the entire life cycle, from manufacture to use and retirement. Illustrative topics include advances in the underlying science of acoustic, thermal, electrical, magnetic, optical and ionizing radiation techniques and their applications to NDE problems. These problems include the nondestructive characterization of a wide variety of material properties and their degradation in service, nonintrusive sensors for monitoring manufacturing and materials processes, new techniques and combinations of techniques for detecting and characterizing hidden discontinuities and distributed damage in materials, standardization concepts and quantitative approaches for advanced NDE techniques, and long-term continuous monitoring of structures and assemblies.

Robotics (ISSN 2218-6581) is a fully refereed international journal that presents the state-of-the-art research work in the area of robotics. It aims to provide an international forum to report latest developments from robotic systems, autonomous behaviours, multi-sensor fusion, learning algorithms, system modelling, control software, smart actuators, and human-machine interaction. Special emphasis is given to technology innovation and real-world applications. The main objective of Robotics is to establish an excellent channel of communication between experts in academic and research institutions, practitioners and professionals working in the industry, and policy makers.

The journal represents a selection of translated articles from two oldest Russian journals on Mechanical and Production Engineering – Vestnik Mashinostroeniya and STIN. The journal coverage is development of different branches of mechanical engineering, new technologies and tools for machine and materials design. A particular emphasis is placed on operations research and production-line layout, industrial robots and manipulators, quality control and process engineering, kinematic analysis of machine assemblies, and computerized integrated manufacturing systems.

The Russian Journal of Nondestructive Testing offers current Russian research on the theory and technology of nondestructive testing of materials and components; describes laboratory and industrial investigations of devices and instrumentation; and provides reviews of new equipment developed for series manufacture. Articles cover all physical methods of nondestructive testing, including magnetic and electrical; ultrasonic; X-ray and y-ray; capillary; liquid; and radio. This is a translation of Defectoskopiya, is a publication of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The Russian volume-year is published in English beginning in July.

Scripta Materialia is a LETTERS journal of Acta Materialia, providing a forum for the rapid publication of short communications on the relationship between the structure and the properties of inorganic materials.
