This Journal is devoted to the advancement of the science and technology of guidance, control, and dynamics through the dissemination of original archival papers disclosing significant technical knowledge, exploratory developments, design criteria, and applications in aeronautics, astronautics, celestial mechanics, and related fields. The Journal publishes qualified papers on dynamics, stability, guidance, control, navigation, optimization, electronics, avionics, and information processing related to aeronautical, astronautical, and marine systems. Papers are sought which demonstrate the application of recent research to practical engineering problems. Papers that describe aspects of the dynamics and control of significant recent developments, such as a new or different aircraft or spacecraft, also are desired.

The Journal of Heuristics provides a forum for advancing the state-of-the-art in the theory and practical application of techniques for solving problems approximately that cannot be solved exactly. It fosters the development, understanding, and practical use of heuristic solution techniques for solving business, engineering, and societal problems. It considers the importance of theoretical, empirical, and experimental work related to the development of heuristics. The journal presents practical applications, theoretical developments, decision analysis models that consider issues of rational decision making with limited information, artificial intelligence-based heuristics applied to a wide variety of problems, learning paradigms, and computational experimentation. This journal publishes original research papers on nonlinear hyperbolic problems and related topics, of mathematical and/or physical interest. Specifically, it invites papers on the theory and numerical analysis of hyperbolic conservation laws and of hyperbolic partial differential equations arising in mathematical physics. The Journal welcomes contributions in:*Theory of nonlinear hyperbolic systems of conservation laws, addressing the issues of well-posedness and qualitative behavior of solutions, in one or several space dimensions.*Hyperbolic differential equations of mathematical physics, such as the Einstein equations of general relativity, Dirac equations, Maxwell equations, relativistic fluid models, etc.*Lorentzian geometry, particularly global geometric and causal theoretic aspects of spacetimes satisfying the Einstein equations.*Nonlinear hyperbolic systems arising in continuum physics such as: hyperbolic models of fluid dynamics, mixed models of transonic flows, etc.*General problems that are dominated (but not exclusively driven) by finite speed phenomena, such as dissipative and dispersive perturbations of hyperbolic systems, and models from statistical mechanics and other probabilistic models relevant to the derivation of fluid dynamical equations.*Convergence analysis of numerical methods for hyperbolic equations: finite difference schemes, finite volumes schemes, etc.The Journal aims to provide a forum for the community of researchers who are currently working in the very active area of nonlinear hyperbolic problems, and will also serve as a source of information for the users of such research.There is no a priori limitation on the length of submitted manuscripts, and even long papers may be published.

Its objective is to promote collaboration between optimization specialists, industrial practitioners and management scientists so that important practical industrial and management problems can be addressed by the use of appropriate, recent advanced optimization techniques. Journal of Inequalities and Applications is a peer-reviewed open access journal published under the brand SpringerOpen. The aim of this journal is to provide a multi-disciplinary forum of discussion in mathematics and its applications in which the essentiality of inequalities is highlighted. This Journal accepts high quality articles containing original research results and survey articles of exceptional merit. The journal, although limited to -metrics aspects, has a broad scope: in principle, all quantitative analysis of original problems in information science are within the scope of JOI. Besides its generality, Journal of Informetrics focusses on papers describing fundamental methods and theories and/or universally important data, gathered in a non-trivial way. Fundamental methods comprise mathematical, probabilistic or statistical models and techniques as well as methods in operational research. These methods can serve the quantitative explanation of certain phenomena, evaluation of information and its producers as well as the management of libraries and other information centres.Journal of Informetrics has a special (though not exclusive) interest in inter- and multi-disciplinary papers, dealing with common aspects of (or possible differences between) several neighbouring disciplines such as quantitative linguistics, econometrics, biometrics and other -metrics fields. The aim is to lower the barriers between these fields, hence avoiding reformulation of similar problems, theories and solutions. The Journal of Intelligent Transportation Systems is devoted to scholarly research on the development, planning, management, operation and evaluation of intelligent transportation systems. Intelligent transportation systems are innovative solutions that address contemporary transportation problems. They are characterized by information, dynamic feedback and automation that allow people and goods to move efficiently. They encompass the full scope of information technologies used in transportation, including control, computation and communication, as well as the algorithms, databases, models and human interfaces. The emergence of these technologies as a new pathway for transportation is relatively new. The Journal of Intelligent Transportation Systems is especially interested in research that leads to improved planning and operation of the transportation system through the application of new technologies. The journal is particularly interested in research that adds to the scientific understanding of the impacts that intelligent transportation systems can have on accessibility, congestion, pollution, safety, security, noise, and energy and resource consumption. This journal aims to present original articles on the theory, numerics and applications of inverse and ill-posed problems. This Journal is intended as a forum for new developments in knot theory, particularly developments that create connections between knot theory and other aspects of mathematics and natural science. The stance is interdisciplinary due to the nature of the subject.Knot theory as a pure mathematical discipline is subject to many forms of generalization (higher-dimensional knots, knots and links in other manifolds, non-spherical knots, recursive systems analogous to knotting).
