The American Journal of Physical Anthropology (AJPA) is the official journal of the American Association of Physical Anthropologists. The Journal is published monthly in three quarterly volumes. In addition, two supplements appear on an annual basis, the Yearbook of Physical Anthropology, which publishes major review articles, and the Annual Meeting Issue, containing the Scientific Program of the Annual Meeting of the American Association of Physical Anthropologists and abstracts of posters and podium presentations. The Yearbook of Physical Anthropology has its own editor, appointed by the Association, and is handled independently of the AJPA. As measured by impact factor, the AJPA is among the top journals listed in the anthropology category by the Social Science Citation Index. The reputation of the AJPA as the leading publication in physical anthropology is built on its nearly century-long record of publishing high quality scientific articles in a wide range of topics. The Editor-in-Chief welcomes for consideration manuscripts that contribute to an understanding of the evolution of members of the order Primates, with particular emphasis on human biological evolution and variation. Within this framework, the AJPA publishes in established areas, including human biology and non-human primate behavior, and also seeks submissions in new and developing fronts that contribute to the growth of the science and increased understanding of human and non-human primate evolution. The AJPA publishes scientific articles without page charges, as well as invited commentaries, book reviews, and short communications dealing mostly with methodological and technical issues. Manuscripts submitted elsewhere will not be considered for publication. The Editor-in-Chief seeks input on cover design from the AJPA readership. Authors are encouraged to submit illustrative materials for inclusion on the cover. Research manuscripts should be sent to the Office of the Editor-in-Chief. Invited book reviews should be sent to the Associate Editor for Book Reviews. The Office of the Editor-in-Chief is located at the Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore. The AJPA is a peer-reviewed scientific publication. The Editor-in-Chief works with the assistance of Associate Editors appointed by the Executive Committee of the Association, and seeks advice of reviewers recommended by the Associate Editors. The American Journal of Human Biology is the Official Journal of the Human Biology Association. The American Journal of Human Biology is a bimonthly, peer-reviewed, internationally circulated journal that publishes reports of original research, theoretical articles and timely reviews, and brief communications in the interdisciplinary field of human biology. As the official journal of the Human Biology Association, the Journal also publishes abstracts of research presented at its annual scientific meeting and book reviews relevant to the field. The Journal seeks scholarly manuscripts that address all aspects of human biology, health, and disease, particularly those that stress comparative, developmental, ecological, or evolutionary perspectives. The Anatomical Record: Advances in Integrative Anatomy and Evolutionary Biology, an official publication of the American Association of Anatomists, publishes new discoveries in the morphological aspects of molecular, cellular, systems, and evolutionary biology. The journal focuses on major new findings in the anatomical consequences of gene disruption, activation, or over expression upon cell, tissue, or organ architecture and also recognizes the importance of descriptive studies in contemporary research, particularly when framed in the context of experimental models or questions. Another important priority will be those discoveries and new advances made through the use of imaging modalities ranging from those that image real-time signaling processes to ones that image protein or gene expression in individual cells, tissues, or whole organisms. Papers are accepted dealing with functional morphology of any vertebrate organ system including those with a developmental, comparative, or evolutionary theme. The area of coverage is directed primarily to the organ or system level, where descriptive studies of normal and abnormal development become an important consideration in characterizing phenotypes. In addition, timely reviews of important topics related to Anatomy and its subdisciplines are regularly included. The criteria of acceptance of all papers are the quality of the research, its originality and significance to our readership. The abstracts and proceedings of the annual meeting of the American Association of Anatomists is also published in The Anatomical Record. No paper that has appeared previously will be accepted nor will simultaneous publication elsewhere be allowed.

The official English journal of the Japanese Association of Anatomists, Anatomical Science International (formerly titled Kaibogaku Zasshi) publishes original research articles dealing with morphological sciences. Coverage in the journal includes molecular, cellular, histological and gross anatomical studies on humans and on normal and experimental animals, as well as functional morphological, biochemical, physiological and behavioral studies if they include morphological analysis.

Anatomical Sciences Education is the journal of the American Association of Anatomists, published in cooperation with the American Association of Clinical Anatomists and the Human Anatomy & Physiology Society. The aim of this journal is to provide an international forum for the exchange of ideas, opinions, innovations and research on topics related to education in the anatomical sciences of gross anatomy, embryology, histology, and neurosciences at all levels of anatomical sciences education including, undergraduate, graduate, post-graduate, allied health, medical (both allopathic and osteopathic), and dental. For more than a century the Annals of Anatomy have been one of the most famous and widespread journals on morphology. The journal is open to original papers covering a link between anatomy and areas such as molecular biology, cell biology, reproductive biology, immunobiology, developmental biology, neurobiology, embryology as well as neuroanatomy, neuroimmunology, clinical anatomy, comparative anatomy, modern imaging techniques, evolution, and especially also aging. Brain Structure & Function publishes research that provides insight into brain structure-function relationships. Studies published here integrate data spanning from molecular, cellular, developmental, and system architecture, to the neuroanatomy of behavior and cognitive functions, to clinical neuroanatomy and brain dysfunction. Studies of the mammalian nervous system are central to the journal, yet coverage ranges beyond this taxon. Methodologies include modern tracing, immunocytochemical and neuroimaging methods; neuroinformatics (databases and internet tools); statistical techniques that support the integration of 3D cellular and systems-level anatomical data; and genetic/molecular/electrophysiological approaches to neural circuit models. The journal presents full-length papers, short communications, and reviews.

Brain Topography publishes clinical and basic research on cognitive neuroscience and functional neurophysiology using the full range of imaging techniques including EEG, MEG, fMRI, TMS, diffusion imaging, spectroscopy, intracranial recordings, lesion studies, and related methods. Submissions combining multiple techniques are particularly encouraged, as well as reports of new and innovative methodologies. Brain Topography is also an appropriate venue for case/clinical studies from one or a cohort of patients/subjects that provide insights into the neural basis of a psychiatric or neurological impairment and/or the efficacy of a novel therapy. Such studies should be of sufficiently broad interest to both clinical and basic researchers.
