The Union's free access, online journal, Public Health Action, was launched on 1 May 2011, and the first issue was published online on 21 September 2011. The journal aims to promote the vision of The Union, Health solutions for the poor, by disseminating new knowledge on health systems and health services for vulnerable groups, with a priority on tuberculosis, lung health, non-communicable diseases and related public health issues.
The editors will consider any manuscript reporting original research on health systems and services, with a focus on access, equity, quality and quality improvement, efficiency and cost-effectiveness and ethical issues related to health systems and services.
Public Health Ethics is the first peer-reviewed international journal to focus on a systematic analysis of the moral problems in public health and preventive medicine. It contains original articles, reviews, and case studies about the nature of public health and related concepts (e.g. population, public, community, prevention); discussions of values in public health; and ethical issues in relation to all aspects of public health policy and practice.
