Journal of Medicinal Chemistry publishes studies that contribute to an understanding of the relationship between molecular structure and biological activity or mode of action.

Some specific areas that are appropriate include the following:

• Design, synthesis, and biological evaluation of novel biologically active compounds, diagnostic agents, or labeled ligands employed as pharmacological tools.
• Molecular modifications of reported series that lead to a significantly improved understanding of their structure-activity relationships (SAR). Routine extensions of existing series that do not utilize novel chemical or biological approaches or do not add significantly to a basic understanding of the SAR of the series will normally not be accepted for publication.
• Structural biological studies (X-ray, NMR, etc.) of relevant ligands and targets with the aim of investigating molecular recognition processes in the action of biologically active compounds.
• Molecular biological studies (e.g., site-directed mutagenesis) of macromolecular targets that lead to an improved understanding of molecular recognition.
• Computational studies that provide fresh insight into the SAR of compound series that are of current general interest or analysis of other available data that subsequently advance medicinal chemistry knowledge.
• Substantially novel computational chemistry methods with demonstrated value for the identification, optimization, or target interaction analysis of bioactive molecules.
• Effect of molecular structure on the distribution, pharmacokinetics, and metabolic transformation of biologically active compounds. This may include design, synthesis, and evaluation of novel types of prodrugs.
• Novel methodology with broad application to medicinal chemistry, but only if the methods have been tested on relevant molecules.

The Journal of Microencapsulation is a well-established, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to the publication of original research findings related to the preparation, properties and uses of individually encapsulated novel small particles, as well as significant improvements to tried-and-tested techniques relevant to micro and nano particles and their use in a wide variety of industrial, engineering, pharmaceutical, biotechnology and research applications. Its scope extends beyond conventional microcapsules to all other small particulate systems such as self assembling structures that involve preparative manipulation.The journal covers:*the chemistry of encapsulation materials;*the physics of release through the capsule wall and/or desorption from carrier;*the techniques of preparation;*content and storage;*the many uses to which microcapsules are put.Nanotechnology is now moving into medicine as nanomedicine; an emerging speciality with great potential in the development of unique opportunities for more refined targeting and for new therapeutic approaches to diagnose and treat life threatening diseases. Therefore, coverage also includes nanotechnological advances in the design and synthesis of these structures and their potential applications. Furthermore, there is an extensive information and reference section found in every issue of the journal comprising patent briefings. This publication is aimed at a broad, interdisciplinary audience of academic and industrial researchers actively engaged in basic and applied laboratory practice, related to engineering micro- and nano-structured particles, including pharmaceutical science, medicine, photographic and copying processes, food technology, agrochemicals, adhesives and all those interested in small particle science and technology.

J Mol Med publishes reports describing major advances in the understanding, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of human disease through the application of molecular biology and gene technology, a research discipline that has become known as molecular medicine.  The journal publishes original papers and review articles of the highest quality pertinent to all aspects of human biology and pathophysiology. J Mol Med is the continuation of the Berliner Klinische Wochenschrift (1864), one of the oldest and most prestigious European journals in which great scientists such as Paul Ehrlich, Robert Koch and Otto Warburg published their seminal, epoch-making discoveries.

Journal of Nanobiotechnology is ready to receive manuscripts on all aspects of scientific and technological advances in the fields of medical, biological and nanoscale sciences.

The Journal of Natural Products invites and publishes papers that make substantial and scholarly contributions to the area of natural products research. Contributions may relate to the chemistry and/or biochemistry of naturally occurring compounds or the biology of living systems from which they are obtained. When new compounds are reported, manuscripts describing their biological activity are much preferred.

Topics may include, but are not limited to:

• Secondary metabolites of microorganisms, including antibiotics and mycotoxins
• Physiologically active compounds from terrestrial and marine plants and animals
• Biochemical studies, including biosynthesis and microbiological transformations
• Fermentation and plant tissue culture
• Isolation, structure elucidation, and chemical synthesis of novel compounds from nature
• Pharmacology of compounds of natural origin 

Manuscripts that focus on biological properties of chemically complex extracts, mixtures, or essential oils are outside the scope of the journal.

The Journal of Neuroimmune Pharmacology (JNIP) is the peer-reviewed journal of the Society on NeuroImmune Pharmacology. JNIP interfaces the disciplines of immunology, pharmacology and experimental neuroscience by acting as a platform for research discoveries into the pathogenesis and pharmacology of nervous system disorders affecting the immune system and vice versa. Original interdisciplinary scientific contributions, concise 'opinion,' and broad reviews are welcome. Journal of Ocular Pharmacology and Therapeutics is the only multidisciplinary peer-reviewed journal that covers basic and clinical research about biopharmaceuticals that have the potential to prevent, treat, and/or diagnose, ocular diseases and disorders.The Journal publishes manuscripts, reviews, and letters to the editor related to the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of biopharmaceuticals related to the treatment of the eye.

The official Journal of the European Peptide Society EPS The Journal of Peptide Science is a cooperative venture of John Wiley & Sons, Ltd and the European Peptide Society, undertaken for the advancement of international peptide science by the publication of original research results and reviews. The Journal of Peptide Science publishes three types of articles: Research Articles, Rapid Communications and Reviews. The scope of the Journal embraces the whole range of peptide chemistry and biology: the isolation, characterisation, synthesis properties (chemical, physical, conformational, pharmacological, endocrine and immunological) and applications of natural peptides; studies of their analogues, including peptidomimetics; peptide antibiotics and other peptide-derived complex natural products; peptide and peptide-related drug design and development; peptide materials and nanomaterials science; combinatorial peptide research; the chemical synthesis of proteins; and methodological advances in all these areas. Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis (JPA) is a peer-reviewed open access journal for original research articles, short communication as well as review articles related to all aspects of Pharmaceutical Analysis. Journal of Pharmaceutical Policy and Practice (formerly known as Southern Med Review) is an open access, peer-reviewed journal. It provides a platform for researchers to disseminate empirical research findings, with the aim that people everywhere have access to the medicines they need and use them rationally.Journal of Pharmaceutical Policy and Practice encompasses all aspects of pharmacy whether clinical, social, administrative or economic, and provides a platform to researchers, academics and practitioners from around the world to share new evidence, concerns and perspectives.

The Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences will publish original research papers, original research notes, invited topical reviews (including Minireviews), and editorial commentary and news. The area of focus shall be concepts in basic pharmaceutical science and such topics as chemical processing of pharmaceuticals, including crystallization, lyophilization, chemical stability of drugs, pharmacokinetics, biopharmaceutics, pharmacodynamics, pro-drug developments, metabolic disposition of bioactive agents, dosage form design, protein-peptide chemistry and biotechnology specifically as these relate to pharmaceutical technology, and targeted drug delivery.

This journal is an international medium directed towards the needs of academic, clinical, government and industrial analysis by publishing original research reports and critical reviews on pharmaceutical and biomedical analysis. It covers the interdisciplinary aspects of analysis in the pharmaceutical, biomedical and clinical sciences, including developments in analytical methodology, instrumentation, computation and interpretation. Submissions on novel applications focussing on drug purity and stability studies, pharmacokinetics, therapeutic monitoring, metabolic profiling; drug-related aspects of analytical biochemistry and forensic toxicology; quality assurance in the pharmaceutical industry are also welcome.Studies from areas of well established and poorly selective methods, such as UV-VIS spectrophotometry (including derivative and multi-wavelength measurements), basic electroanalytical (potentiometric, polarographic and voltammetric) methods, fluorimetry, flow-injection analysis, etc. are accepted for publication in exceptional cases only, if a unique and substantial advantage over presently known systems is demonstrated. The same applies to the assay of simple drug formulations by any kind of methods and the determination of drugs in biological samples based merely on spiked samples. Drug purity/stability studies should contain information on the structure elucidation of the impurities/degradants. Papers dealing with the analytical aspects of traditional folk medicines are acceptable if the results are expected to attract the interest of readers also outside the area of origin. Bioanalytical papers (pharmacokinetic, bioequivalence, protein and DNA binding studies) are accepted if the focus is on innovative analytical methodology.In determining the suitability of submitted articles for publication, particular scrutiny will be placed on the degree of novelty and significance of the research and the extent to which it adds to existing knowledge in pharmaceutical and biomedical analysis. In all submissions to the journal, authors must address the question of how their proposed methodology compares with previously reported methods.
