The Journal of Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics is devoted to illustrating the importance of pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and pharmacometrics in the understanding of drug action, therapy, design, development, and evaluation. It presents experimental and theoretical papers examining the kinetics of drug disposition and drug action; clinical pharmacokinetics; factors affecting formation and disposition of drug metabolites; dosage form evaluation from animals and humans; bioavailabilty studies, scaling from animals to humans, and in vitro and in vivo correlations. A special section is provided for papers addressing pharmacometrics, the computational and statistical methods used for the modeling, analysis, interpretation, and simulation of pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic data. Most published papers illustrate and apply their finding to real-world observations in animals and/or humans. Journal of Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics publishes six issues a year.
Journal of Pharmacological and Toxicological Methods publishes original articles on current methods of investigation used in pharmacology and toxicology. Pharmacology and toxicology are defined in the broadest sense, referring to actions of drugs and chemicals on all living systems. With its international editorial board and noted contributors, Journal of Pharmacological and Toxicological Methods is the leading journal devoted exclusively to experimental procedures used by pharmacologists and toxicologists.Benefits to authorsWe also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more. The Journal of Studies on Alcohol and Drugs began in 1940 as the Quarterly Journal of Studies on Alcohol. It was founded by Howard W. Haggard, M.D., director of Yale University’s Laboratory of Applied Physiology. Dr. Haggard was a physiologist studying the effects of alcohol on the body, and he started the Journal as a way to publish the increasing amount of research on alcohol use, abuse, and treatment that emerged from Yale and other institutions in the years following the repeal of Prohibition in 1933. In addition to original research, the Journal also published abstracts summarizing other published documents dealing with alcohol. At Yale, Dr. Haggard built a large team of alcohol researchers within the Laboratory of Applied Physiology—including E.M. Jellinek, who became managing editor of the Journal in 1941. In 1943, to bring together the various alcohol research projects conducted by the Laboratory, Dr. Haggard formed the Section of Studies on Alcohol, which also became home to the Journal and its editorial staff. In 1950, the Section was renamed the Center of Alcohol Studies.
The Journal of Texture Studies is a peer-reviewed international journal historically specialized in the texture and sensory perception of food and other consumer products. The journal was first published in 1969 and has been the primary source for disseminating advances in all sciences related to physical characterization and sensory perception of texture, in particular in areas such as food rheology and microstructure, tactile senses and texture perception, texture features and material attributes (composition, structure, and processing), food oral consumption, and studies associated with eating and sensory appreciation. With the ever expanding research interests of texture studies and increasing cross-disciplinary research with the allied health industries, the Journal has redefined its scope to better reflect the broadened research activities and interests associated with texture and sensory perception. Recent developments in the discipline reveal a greater awareness of the essential role of oral and brain processes in texture and perception. Beyond the traditional subject matter of the journal, the editors welcome research articles, research notes, review papers, and discussion papers from contributors of food physics, oral physiology, sensory psychology, and other relevant disciplines. Some key areas/topics includes (but not limited to):• Rheology, fracture mechanics, and microstructure in relation to texture, flavor and processing• Modeling and simulation of eating processes• Oral receptors and texture perception• Oral tribology• Food-saliva interactions• Measuring and quantifying texture attributes instrumentally and by panels• Novel techniques and optimization of instrumental tests• Psychophysics and psychorheology• Receptor responses and sensory perception in the brain• Food design and engineering for enhanced oral experience and for vulnerable consumersThe Journal also accepts reviews of books particularly pertinent to the field.
Journal of Toxicology is a peer-reviewed, open access journal that publishes original research articles, review articles, and clinical studies in all areas of toxicology.
Now published twenty-four times per year, this authoritative journal features strictly refereed original research in the field of environmental toxicology in general as well as in special interest fields such as target organ toxicities, immunotoxicology, risk assessment, carcinogenesis, mutagenesis, ecotoxicology, environmental factors affecting health, and aquatic toxicology. Emphasis is on the toxicological effects of natural and anthropogenic environmental pollutants and their action on both intact organisms and in vitro systems. Increased attention is being placed on the results of epidemiological studies of select groups of workers in exposed populations. To facilitate the timely publication of short articles, the journal has added a new Rapid Communications section, keeping readers on top of important new developments in the field, as they happen. Publication office: Taylor & Francis, Inc., 325 Chestnut Street, Suite 800, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
Journal of Toxicology and Environmental Health: Part B has been instituted to provide a quarterly outlet for in-depth critical reviews, both commissioned and unsolicited, which complement the original research published in the Journal of Toxicology and Environmental Health. In keeping with the original scope, Part B will focus on environmental toxicology in general as well as on special interest fields such as: * target organ toxicities; * immunotoxicology; * risk assessment; * carcinogenesis and mutagenesis; * ecotoxicology and aquatic toxicology; * environmental factors affecting health. Emphasis will be on the toxicological effects of natural and anthropogenic environmental pollutants and their action on both intact organisms and in vitro systems.
