IJSTL is an international peer-reviewed journal addressing all methodological aspects in the field of shipping and transport logistics, particularly those that require empirical or mathematical analysis with managerial implications. IJSTL is dedicated to publishing original, high-quality and methodologically rigorous research papers that address significant management issues pertinent to shipping/transport logistics. IJSTL also publishes informative and critical book reviews of newly published books with scholarly and practical contributions that advance the state-of-the-art of the theory and practice of shipping/transport logistics.
The scope includes the examination of overall sustainability of any transportation system, including its infrastructure, vehicle, operation, and maintenance; the integration of social science disciplines, engineering, and information technology with transportation; the understanding of the comparative aspects of different transportation systems from a global perspective; qualitative and quantitative transportation studies; and case studies, surveys, and expository papers in an international or local context. Equal emphasis is placed on the problems of sustainable transportation that are associated with passenger and freight transportation modes in both industrialized and non-industrialized areas.
The International Journal of Tourism Research will promote and enhance research developments in the field of tourism. The journal will provide an international platform for debate and dissemination of research findings whilst also facilitating the discussion of new research areas and techniques. IJTR will continue to add a vibrant and exciting channel for those interested in tourism and hospitality research developments. This function will be further enhanced by the provision of regular, book, conference and web reviews in addition to research articles. The Journal for Maritime Research (JMR) was inaugurated in 1999 as the first fully-online, peer-refereed journal in the field of historical maritime research. From 2011 the JMR will be re-launched online and in print, published twice-yearly by Routledge. The JMR focuses on historical enquiry at the intersections of maritime, British and global history, an increasingly dynamic area of research. It seeks to champion a wide spectrum of innovative research on the maritime past. While the Journal has a particular focus on the British experience, it aspires to position this within broad oceanic and international contexts, encouraging comparative perspectives and interdisciplinary approaches. The Journal of Intelligent Transportation Systems is devoted to scholarly research on the development, planning, management, operation and evaluation of intelligent transportation systems. Intelligent transportation systems are innovative solutions that address contemporary transportation problems. They are characterized by information, dynamic feedback and automation that allow people and goods to move efficiently. They encompass the full scope of information technologies used in transportation, including control, computation and communication, as well as the algorithms, databases, models and human interfaces. The emergence of these technologies as a new pathway for transportation is relatively new. The Journal of Intelligent Transportation Systems is especially interested in research that leads to improved planning and operation of the transportation system through the application of new technologies. The journal is particularly interested in research that adds to the scientific understanding of the impacts that intelligent transportation systems can have on accessibility, congestion, pollution, safety, security, noise, and energy and resource consumption. Transport and Health Study Group (THSG)
JTH is formally affiliated with the Transport and Health Study Group (THSG). However, JTH is a scientific journal, and manuscripts submitted to JTH will therefore be considered on two factors - their scientific quality and the relevance of their content - and not on whether the study's findings conflict with current THSG policy. As the THSG prides itself on promoting evidence-based policies, there will be occasions when such policy needs to be reviewed because of emerging evidence.
