Since its founding in 1949, Public Administration and Development (PAD) has been reviewing and assessing the practice of public administration at the local, regional, national and international levels where it is directed to managing development processes in low and medium income countries. It gives special attention to investigations of the management of all phases of public policy formulation and implementation which have an interest and importance beyond a particular government and state. PAD has a particular interest in the link between public administration practice and management research and provides a professional and academic forum for reporting on new experiences and experiments. PAD also publishes articles on development management research in the NGO sector. It is widely read by academics and practitioners alike, including consultants, donors and policy advisers. With its case study approach, it is also frequently used for teaching and training purposes.

Public Finance Review (PFR), peer-reviewed and published bi-monthly, is a professional forum devoted to economic research, theory, and policy applications, focusing on a variety of allocation, distribution, and stabilization functions within the public sector economy. Public Management Review seeks to: * explore the developing field of public management * embrace research both about the strategic and operational management of public services and about social/public policy development and implementation * encourage in particular work which either presents new empirical knowledge about public management and/or developed theory * encourage questioning both of the legitimacy and hegemony of the 'new public management' paradigm and its alternatives, and of the developing pluralism in public management which encompasses the governance of inter-sectoral relationships between government, non-profit and for-profit organisations in the provision of public services. The Journal of Federalism: a virtual issue which provides a compendium of recent articles in Publius on a topical issue. The first virtual issue, available by clicking below, was edited by Patrick McGuinn on Federalism and Education Policy. This issue features Patrick’s overview on federalism and education policy and makes available previously published Publius articles on No Child Left Behind, the Race to the Top, higher education, and U.S. and Canadian education policy. This issue should be of great interest to scholars in education policy and valuable for classroom use to illustrate the dynamism and relevance of federalism in this important public policy area.
